Debris Collection Update
*Leaf collection has been completed in all districts. The next curbside collection of leaves will take place in April. However, leaves may be taken to the Borough's Recycling Center on Arthur Avenue during regular operating hours.
*Brush collection has been completed in all districts. Normal monthly curbside brush pickup will commence on Feb. 13 and will afterward be scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month and will be by appointment only. Brush can be taken to the Recycling Center during regular operating hours.
*Metal pickup has been ongoing throughout the storm cleanup process and will continue through Feb. 1 by appointment. Normal monthly curbside metal pickup will commence on Feb. 19 and will afterward be scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month - by appointment only. Metal items can also be taken to the Recycling Center during regular operating hours.
*Construction/Household Debris resulting from Hurricane Sandy will be picked up by appointment only until Feb. 1. Afterward, each resident will be responsible for the disposal of these materials. Construction/Household debris can also be taken to the Recycling Center or to the Maplewood Road site during regular operating hours until Feb. 1. After Feb. 1, neither the Recycling Center nor the Maplewood Road site will accept Construction/Household debris.
*The Borough does not collect hazardous waste materials which include, but are not limited to, paint, stain, chemicals, etc. For information on the disposal of these materials contact the Ocean County Department of Solid Waste Management at 732-506-5047.
*The expanded recycling center hours will continue through Feb. 1. The hours are Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Afterward the hours will be as indicated on the 2013 Town Planner.
