“Climate Action Committee reports results of the Soles4Souls campaign”

 

 

 

The Soles4Souls Shoe Drive sponsored by the Climate Action Committee of Point Pleasant Borough, in partnership with Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, was a Huge Success!  Close to 600 pairs of shoes in every size and style were collected from the bins placed around town, then paired up, secured and bagged.  Many thanks go out to: the Point Pleasant Borough School District,  Point Pleasant Branch of the Ocean County Library and Point Pleasant Borough Municipality who all embraced the proposal of this event from the start and pulled together to make this the great accomplishment that it was.  A special thanks goes out to Joy Blazak and Chris Leitner who each delivered a TON of collected shoes to the Edison warehouse in order to circumvent shipping costs of $1 per pair.

 

           As a town we supported the national “America Recycles Day” mission & in the process helped many hundreds of individuals who are in need of footwear.  As they say, “There is no “I” in TEAM!!”  A GREAT BIG Thanks to everyone who helped in some way!!!
