The following recyclable
materials are picked up curbside.
Materials must be at curb by 5:30 a.m. on
your collection day.

Unacceptable
Dairy Tubs (Margarine & Yogurt) Toys, Motor
Oil, Anti-Freeze or Pesticide Containers,
cereal boxes, “gray” cardboard, plastic
bags, pizza boxes, waxed cardboard,
phonebooks.

Recycling Center is located
on Arthur Avenue behind Stop & Shop
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am –
3:45 pm, Saturday 9am – 2:45pm, Sunday 9am –
Noon (through 12/26/10). The center
accepts all curbside materials plus: empty
paint cans (lids removed), car batteries, used
motor oil and filters, telephone books, garden
debris, and leaves. Attendants are on
duty, should you need assistance.
LEAVES – Curbside
LEAF SCHEDULE is inside the Town Planner
Calendar. Call 732-892-1287 if you did not
receive the calendar in the mail. Leaves
can always be taken to the
Recycling
Center.
GRASS CLIPPINGS –
Are not recyclable – Put out for trash in a
plastic bag. Mulching mowers are
recommended to cut down on grass clippings at
the landfill.
TIRES – Pay $1.00
disposal fee at Borough Hall; bring receipt and
tires to Public Works Facility on
Albert Clifton Avenue.
Household Batteries -
CHANGE FOR 2010- Place in regular trash
in individual zip lock bag, or tape over
terminals before putting in trash.

Appointments must be made for the
following items to be picked up by the
Department of Public Works.

BRUSH:
Picked up on the second Tuesday
of every month. Must be
tied securely in 4 ft. bundles, bagged,
or put in cans. Branch
diameter 3” max. Small
loads of brush can also be dropped
off at the Public Works facility on Albert Clifton Ave.

METAL/WHITE GOODS:
Picked up on the third Tuesday of
every month. Appliances containing Freon
must have it removed prior to making an
appointment for pick up.
A receipt from a licensed
refrigerant technician must be provided
to the Public Works Department as proof
of Freon removal, and you will receive a
sticker to put on the appliance. Small
loads may be taken to the DPW facility.

PICKUP INFORMATION
We
return to TWICE per week trash pick up on
Monday, June 14, 2010
All
trash should be at curb at 5:30 am on collection day.
Trash Containers should not exceed
33 gallon capacity, 50 lbs. maximum weight.
Cardboard containers are not acceptable
trash receptacles.

ACCEPTABLE FOR TRASH
Carpeting - Cut
and tied securely in approx. 4’ bundles and kept
dry
Upholstered Items
– Sofas, pillows, mattresses, etc. must be kept
dry
Building Materials
– Small amounts in bundles approx.
3’ x 4’ will be picked up.
Maximum of 3 bundles per pick up.
This material can be put in a trash can -
not to exceed 50 lbs. in weight.
Maximum one can per pick up.
This includes fencing material.
Single wooden doors and windows will be
picked up - one per pick up day.

UNACCEPTABLE FOR TRASH
Hazardous Waste
of any type: Call
732-506-5047 for information. The county has
cancelled their Hazardous Waste program for 2010
due to budget cuts. Hold onto
any hazardous material for the time being.
Hopefully the program will return in 2011.

HOLIDAYS
Monday, July 5, 2010 recycling will be one day late;
Monday/Thursday trash section will only be picked up
Thursday this week. Monday, September 6, 2010 (Labor
Day) recycling will be one day late this week;
Monday/Thursday trash section will only be picked up
on Thursday this week. We return to once per week
trash pick up Monday Sept. 13, 2010.
